PRINT DESIGN I

European Stamps

This print draws inspiration from vintage postal stamps, hand-drawn in ink before being digitised. From afar, it presents as a solid colour or subtle polka dot pattern, while closer inspection reveals intricate stamp details, introducing a tactile and nostalgic quality to the collection. The intricate detailing and compact design make it ideal for smaller items, where its sophistication can be fully appreciated. This print lends itself well to accessories such as scarves, handbags, or pocket squares, but is subtle enough not to overwhelm larger garments.

PRINT DESIGN II

Painterly Plaid

A reimagining of the classic plaid, this print features hand-painted texturing and softened linework, evoking images of classic tweeds with an artistic twist. The open and airy design contrasts the density of the other prints, offering a sense of balance within the collection. Its understated repetition and refined simplicity make it an ideal choice for tailored garments like coats or trousers, where it subtly adds a touch of texture and depth.

PRINT DESIGN III

Raspberry Brambles

Inspired by traditional botanical illustrations, this hand-painted watercolour print serves as the focal point of the collection, offering a delicate and intricate design that evokes the charm of ditsy florals. Its organic shapes and refined detailing make it ideal for garments with soft drape and flow, such as blouses, where the print can move gracefully and enhance the wearer’s silhouette. It strikes a balance between classic and contemporary, providing a versatile motif that is elegant, wearable, and timeless.

European Stamps is showcased on a flowy, full-length wrap dress with an all-over print and a solid tie belt in the same base colour. The dense, intricate design of the print is balanced by the garment's fluid silhouette, demonstrating how the print can be used extensively without becoming visually overwhelming. The solid belt adds structure and breaks up the pattern, highlighting its versatility and suitability for statement garments that retain elegance and refinement.

Painterly Plaid is paired with a two-tone trench coat featuring a khaki base and plaid panels. The selective use of the print throughout the garment offsets its visual impact, illustrating how it can be paired with complementary solid fabrics for a balanced and refined look. This pairing also demonstrates the versatility of the plaid, showing its ability to add character to tailored outerwear without overwhelming the design.

Raspberry Brambles is featured on a flowy, short-sleeve blouse with a chunky waist belt in a 1940s-inspired silhouette, styled with a plain white skirt. The busy nature of the print is offset by its use on a smaller garment, ensuring it remains elegant and wearable. The delicate, organic shapes of the print enhance the femininity of the blouse, adding a dainty charm that complements the vintage-inspired design. This pairing demonstrates how the print can elevate a garment’s aesthetic without veering into dowdy territory as florals can do, making it an ideal choice for refined yet playful pieces.
